Easiest to have a buddy take your measurements, but if you go it alone just try to stand up as straight as possible. Look straight ahead and mark the measuring tape with your finger. Then pull it off your body and look at the number. Your body changes when you hunch over to look.

Measure around the fullest part of your chest (preferably wearing the bra you'd wear with the dress). You can wear a t-shirt while you do this, no problem.

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist. This is probably much higher than where the waist of your jeans would rest. If it's not clear where your natural waist is, it's okay to take your best guess.

Measure around the biggest part of your hips.

To get your inseam, measure from the inside of one leg to the floor.
